The Spirit of Truth

This verse hit me this morning:

John 4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth”.

When I ponder it, I want every spirit capitalized. “Spirit,” reflecting the Devine of the unseen realm. In this world where it’s too easy to believe lies, the truth makes all the difference.

I think we make a mistake when we rely too much on rules and keep God in our heads. If we are in Spirit, it is so much more about how we feel. Opening our hearts to the unknown can be scary, but I know when I truly open myself to possibly, trusting that LOVE rules supreme, the other cares fall away. Fear has no place there.

I must find my way to Sense what is right in the moment. Love isn’t just in church. It’s at the border. It’s at the hospital. It’s on the therapist’s couch and a phone call with a friend. It’s at the kitchen table, and it’s also at the voting booth.

May Spirit guide you today and every day. As Jesus said in Matthew 11:30, the burden is light.

PS Other rewrites: I also want that HIM out of there. We even must give SPIRITS male genitalia?!?! It is disturbing how patriarchy has dominated so much of life and robbed humankind of the fullness of life by not offering equal value to EVERYONE.

And this is a TRUTH, until we can embrace the value and listen to all things created, this place will continue to be a hurting place. So, let’s open our hearts and let the LOVE shine in.
