The Full Extent of His Love John 13:1b
I am finally out for my morning rides. Geez, it is already past mid-July, and I’ve only taken Black Beauty out for a spin one other time this summer. With COVID-19, I got used to being home and sleeping late. Then with my mother dying, I’ve been focused on other things.
When I arrived at the park, I was focused on other things. First, getting out my coffee, then pulling out additional items, and prepping to write. I started to feel anxious, and I thought, “This is NOT what this is supposed to be about.” So, I took a deep breath and just looked around.
In the beginning moments of prayer, I saw this sky, and then I had a new and wonderous thought, “God has put all of this together to take care of us.” The atmosphere to protect us from the damaging parts of the sun and to keep oxygen where we need it; trees and plants with which we exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide; and clouds to provide freshwater through the rain. The list goes on—everything before us God provided for our comfort and our care.
It reminds me of John 13:1b “Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love.” In this section, Jesus goes on to wash the feet of the disciples. What a humble and loving God, we have to offer us so many blessings.
God is with us all the time, and He (She) cares for you. Whatever place you are in right now, take a moment to look at the sky, take a deep breath, and know you are safe.
Dearest Heavenly Father (Mother), thank you so much for all you have done to provide us protection and care. We get so anxious sometimes, working on getting too much done. Please be with us at the moment so we may rest in you. In Your Mighty and Holy Name…
Thanks so much, friends. I’ll be headed out east to see family, but I can bring your prayer requested with me. Lay them on me. I hope you have a great day!
